This policy describes how Houston Research Chemicals processes, packages, and ships products. By placing an order you accept these terms in addition to our Terms of Sale.
Processing time
Orders placed before 2:00 PM Central Time on business days typically ship the same day or the next business day. Hazardous materials, large quantities, and items requiring special packaging may add 1–3 business days. You will receive an email with tracking once your order ships.
Carriers and methods
Most non-hazardous products ship via FedEx Ground or UPS Ground. Expedited service is available at checkout for non-hazmat items. Hazardous materials ship by ground only — air shipment of hazmat is not offered.
Hazardous materials
Some products are classified under DOT 49 CFR as hazardous materials and require specialized packaging, labeling, and ground-only transport. A hazmat fee will be added at checkout for these items. Hazmat shipments require an adult signature at delivery and cannot be left at the door.
Destinations
We currently ship to verified business and institutional addresses within the contiguous United States. We do not ship to:
- P.O. boxes
- Residential addresses without an approved business or institutional account on file
- APO/FPO addresses
- International destinations (please contact us if you have an institutional purchase requirement outside the U.S.)
- Embargoed countries or sanctioned parties as defined by OFAC
Receiving and inspection
Inspect shipments at the time of delivery. Note any visible damage on the carrier’s record before signing. Report any discrepancy, damage, or non-conformance to your account representative within 7 calendar days of delivery (see Refund and Returns Policy).
Lost or delayed shipments
If your tracking shows no movement for 5 or more business days after dispatch, contact us and we will open a trace with the carrier. Replacement shipments are issued at our discretion after the carrier confirms loss.
Storage on receipt
Many of our products are temperature-sensitive. The SDS and product page list required storage conditions. Customer is responsible for transferring products to appropriate storage on arrival.
