Houston Research Chemicals operates under written quality and compliance procedures designed to give research customers reliable, traceable products.
Sourcing and supplier qualification
All products are sourced from manufacturing partners that maintain documented quality systems. New suppliers complete a qualification review covering manufacturing practices, lot release testing, change-control procedures, and traceability before they are added to our approved supplier list.
Product specifications and testing
Each product on our catalog is sold against a written specification — typically purity, identity, and physical form. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is generated for each lot and is available to the customer on request. Methods used for release testing include HPLC, GC, NMR, and Karl Fischer where applicable to the product class.
Documentation
For every shipment, the following documentation is available:
- Safety Data Sheet (SDS) — provided automatically and accessible from the customer account portal.
- Certificate of Analysis (COA) — provided on request, with lot number and test results.
- Product label — includes name, CAS number, lot number, quantity, storage conditions, and required hazard pictograms.
Records are retained for a minimum of seven years.
Storage and handling
Inventory is stored according to the manufacturer’s specified conditions, including refrigerated and controlled-temperature storage where required. Temperature-monitored shipping methods are available for products sensitive to thermal excursions.
Regulatory posture
HRC products are sold for laboratory research, analytical, and industrial use. We do not market or sell:
- Substances scheduled under the U.S. Controlled Substances Act
- Listed precursor chemicals under DEA List I or List II
- Products restricted under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) for general distribution
- Active pharmaceutical ingredients intended for human or veterinary administration
Where a product has reporting requirements (such as TSCA inventory or state-level chemical reporting), customer compliance with those requirements is the customer’s responsibility.
Reporting a quality concern
Quality concerns, suspected non-conformance, or feedback about documentation can be sent to your account representative or via the Contact page. We acknowledge quality reports within one business day and provide a written response after investigation.
